About Chekit

Chekit started with a simple frustration: buying online here often means trusting a stranger with your money and hoping the goods turn up. Good shops struggle to be found, and good customers get burned. We thought it should work better.

So we built one place where you can shop from many local stores at once, pay safely, and have it all delivered — while the businesses selling get the reach, the reliable payouts, and the tax compliance they’d otherwise have to piece together themselves.

We’re starting in Nairobi, close to the ground, learning from the people who use it. Kenya and the wider region come next.

What Chekit is

Chekit is an online marketplace where people in Nairobi can shop from many local stores at once, pay in a single transaction, and have everything delivered to their door. Customers get one cart, one payment, and protection until their order arrives. Merchants get a storefront, a delivery network, reliable payouts, and tax receipts handled for them. Riders get a steady stream of deliveries to earn from.

Who we serve

Three groups use Chekit, and each gets a path built for them:

• Customers — browse and buy from many verified stores in a single order, pay once with their money held safely until the order is confirmed received, and track delivery in real time.
• Merchants — businesses of any size who want to reach more customers without building their own online shop, delivery, and payment systems from scratch. Payouts go to M-Pesa and KRA receipts are handled automatically.
• Riders — the people and businesses who move orders from store to customer, with several clear ways to earn.

Where we’re going

Chekit is launching in Nairobi first, with the rest of Kenya and East Africa to follow. We’re building it openly and close to the people who use it — if you want to help shape how Nairobi shops online, we’d love to have you on board early.
